How to Make a Choicer Voicer Voice Pack
Build a simple audio pack first, then add captions, tags, images, credits, and a clean game-ready ZIP.
Make a folder, add WAV, MP3, or OGG clips shorter than 60 seconds, place it in packs_voice, and test it. The in-game editor under Extras can add captions, tags, images, credits, and pack details.
Start with the minimum working pack
The official guide is unusually simple: supported audio files inside one folder are enough to create a basic voice pack. Build that smallest version first. Metadata and art should improve a working pack, not hide a broken one.

Prepare the audio
- Choose clips people can performPrefer short, recognizable lines with one clear voice. Remove long silence and confusing overlaps.
- Edit from material you are allowed to useOriginal recordings and properly licensed material are the safest choices. A pack being free does not cancel copyright.
- Normalize the levelThe official guide warns that small waveforms make scoring harder. Keep clips clear without clipping or distortion.
- Export a supported formatUse WAV, MP3, or OGG. Play the exported file outside your editor before adding it to the pack.
- Name files for maintenanceA simple order such as
01_intro.oggand02_angry.oggmakes review and metadata work easier.
Add captions, images, tags, and credits
Since version 0.5.0, The Choicer Voicer includes a voice clip and pack metadata editor. Open Extras, then Edit Voice Packs & Clip Metadata.
- Assign an image to an individual sample.
- Add an accurate caption for what the clip says.
- Add tags that help players filter the pack.
- Choose a square pack icon.
- Add a subtitle, display name, author credits, and description.
- Use a filler image for clips that do not have individual art.
The official guide recognizes _pack_filler_image as a fallback image. A same-named image can also match an audio clip, such as 01_intro.ogg with 01_intro.png.
Package and test the pack
- Load the folder in-gameConfirm the pack appears, preview every clip, and inspect the pack's readme or load-error area.
- Run a real roundCheck volume, caption timing, images, tags, and scoring behavior with the same files you plan to share.
- Remove editor and system clutterKeep source project files, caches, and operating-system junk outside the release folder.
- Compress one clear root folderThe person extracting the ZIP should immediately see one pack folder, not a chain of download wrappers.
- Run Pack Doctor on the final ZIPSave the JSON report and SHA-256 fingerprint beside your release notes.
Pack Doctor can remove listed system junk from a copy of the ZIP. It deliberately does not rename audio, rewrite metadata, or promise game compatibility.
Before you share
- State the creator name and any contributors.
- State the game version you actually tested.
- Describe mature or loud content plainly.
- Publish the SHA-256 fingerprint for the exact ZIP.
- Keep one original download page that you can update or remove.
- Explain whether mirrors and modifications are allowed.
